TC10/TC11 Summer School on Document Analysis

Scope
We are pleased to announce that the 5th TC10/TC11 Summer School on Document Analysis and Recognition, endorsed by IAPR TC-10 (Technical Committee on Graphics Recognition) and IAPR TC-11 (Reading Systems), will be held in Switzerland from July 3 to 7, 2023.
The summer school will provide new students in the field of DAR (Document Analysis and Recognition) with an overview of statistical and structural methods for processing and analyzing documents. Several leading scientist from the field are invited to present traditional methods and new trends for document analysis. Programming sessions are planned. All lectures and events will be held in English. It will be an in-person event.
SSDA 2023 continues the tradition of the past summer schools held in Jaipur (India) in 2017, La Rochelle (France) in 2018, Islamabad (Pakistan) in 2019, and Luleå (Sweden) in 2021.
Topics
The school will address the following topics:
- Document image processing
- Indexing and retrieval of documents
- Deepl learning for document analysis and understanding
- Handwriting recognition
- Historical documents and new challenges
- Document analysis for literature search
- Text and graphics recognition in a complex environment
There will also be talks from industrial experts and practical lab session. Students will be asked to present their research through a poster.
